Recently, I was fortunate enough to be welcomed into The Noonday Collection fold, and it is safe to say I am hooked. My lovely Carly hosted a Noonday Trunk Show for her sister (and phenom Noonday ambassador, Lindsley) to showcase some of the company's gorgeous jewelry, bags, scarves and other accessories from around the world. Noonday partners with talented artisan entrepreneurs to make a difference in some of the world's most vulnerable communities. By developing artisan businesses through fair trade, Noonday empowers them to grow sustainably and to create dignified jobs for people who need them.
I immediately fell in love with the La Bella Bag, and I think it's easy to see why. La Bella was made in Peru from hand-dyed alpaca yarn, woven on a very old wooden hand loom. Once the panels are woven, the women sit and hand tie off each strand around the perimeter. Next, the front panel is screen printed with the design that is to be embroidered. The leather is hand-cut and glued into what will become the handles and shoulder strap. A seamstress then sews all the panels and leather together. In total, the bag takes about 20 hours to complete.
The Captivate Cuff, also made in Peru from brass and a semi-precious blue stone, comes from the workshop of a third-generation silversmith.
Last, but certainly not least, the Greek-inspired Helena Necklace is 14k gold plated. Can't go wrong with the feminine laurel design and adjustable length.
I love these pieces separately and together, and they are ones that I would be proud and honored to wear because I would be reminded that my purchases went to a worthy cause. Ladies and gents, the holiday season is right around the corner, so if you have any accessory lovers in your life, I highly recommend checking out The Noonday Collection. Feel good about giving and getting.
If you're in Colorado and would like to host a Noonday Trunk Show for your friends and family, please contact Lindsley Grebenik at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you are not in Colorado, I'm sure she can hook you up with another fabulous ambassador!
Thanks for stopping by,
