I thought this post might be a bit ill-timed considering BLIZZARD 2016 and the 17" of snow it just dumped on Denver, but then I thought, screw it. Ice cream is good no matter the weather. And so are dates with my husband. Any time I spend with Chris is sweet, but throw some ice cream in the mix and it's a guaranteed sugar coma. A white T-shirt and jeans is seriously my everyday uniform, and it's so easy to dress it up or down depending on the occasion. A colorful scarf, some fun accessories, and a shiny pair of loafers took this outfit up a notch for our date to Bonnie Brae Ice Cream the other weekend. I'm a fan of plain old vanilla soft serve, but Chris likes to load up his cone with some crazy flavors, and of course I always have to try his. I'm pretty sure that's why you get married, right? So that you can order different things off the menu and try everything? I actually think he always orders extra because he knows I'll finish whatever is on his plate (or cone in this case). Girl's gotta eat.
How did all my Denverites fare after this crazy blizzard? The city shut down! Good thing is, this will all melt in a day and it will be back to sunny and beautiful. Typical Colorado spring. Hate it or love it, Colorado is drunk this time of year.
Funny story about the Nixon men's watch I'm wearing. It's actually Chris's, and I bought it for him for our two-year wedding anniversary. I kept asking him if he liked watches or if he ever wore them. He kept telling me no. So I got him one. I know. He wore it maybe three times to appease me. Part of me just really wanted him to wear a watch because I love the way they look on a man, and part of me didn't know what else to get him for an anniversary in which "clocks" are the traditional gift. But maybe the biggest part of me just wanted the watch for myself because I like the look of men's watches better than women's. Chris will tell you the reasoning is the latter, but the jury's still out on that one.
Stay warm and safe out there everyone. And have a splendid Easter.
